Community Guidelines

Every person on the other side of the connection is a real individual. You must not use Peerly to:

• Harass another person
• Threaten someone
• Repeatedly insult or intimidate someone
• Intentionally humiliate another person
• Target someone because of their identity
• Encourage self-harm or violence
• Engage in sustained abusive behavior

Disagreements are normal. Harassment is not.

Peerly is not a platform for sexual content. Do not use Peerly to display, request, distribute, or promote:

• Pornography or explicit sexual content
• Sexual acts or solicitation
• Sexually explicit messages
• Sexual exploitation
• Sexual content involving minors

Do not attempt to contact, exploit, manipulate, groom, or sexually engage with minors. Do not request:

• Explicit images from minors
• Personal contact information from minors
• Social-media accounts from minors for inappropriate purposes
• Meetings with minors
• Sexual conversations with minors

Any suspected exploitation of a child may be subject to immediate action.

Peerly does not permit content or behavior intended to attack or dehumanize people because of characteristics such as:

You may disagree with another person. You may not use Peerly to target or abuse people because of who they are.

Do not make credible threats of violence against another person or encourage violent acts. This includes:

• Threats to physically harm someone
• Encouragement of violence
• Instructions intended to facilitate violence
• Glorification of real-world attacks
• Attempts to frighten another user into believing they are in immediate danger

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services rather than relying on Peerly.

Do not use Peerly to facilitate or promote unlawful activity, including:

• Selling illegal goods
• Arranging criminal activity
• Distributing stolen information
• Facilitating fraud or trafficking
• Distributing malicious software
• Impersonating authorities for criminal purposes

Do not deceive users for financial or personal gain. Examples include:

• Fake investment or cryptocurrency scams
• Phishing or fake giveaways
• Fraudulent job offers
• Impersonation scams
• Requests for passwords or payment credentials

Think carefully before revealing personal information. Avoid sharing:

Remember that the person you meet may not be who they claim to be.

Do not deliberately impersonate another person, organization, official, celebrity, or public figure for the purpose of deceiving or harming someone. Do not create a false identity to obtain sensitive information, money, or access.

Do not use Peerly to distribute spam, automated messages, malicious links, repetitive advertisements, phishing links, malware, or scripts designed to disrupt the service.

Do not attempt to overload, attack, scrape, or otherwise disrupt Peerly's infrastructure.

Attempts to bypass technical or safety controls are prohibited, including attempts to:

• Evade a platform restriction
• Manipulate matchmaking
• Exploit technical vulnerabilities
• Bypass rate limits
• Interfere with another user's session
• Intentionally disrupt WebRTC connections
• Access rooms or sessions you are not authorized to access

Security vulnerabilities should be reported responsibly rather than exploited.

Peerly does not control what another participant does on their own device. A participant may be able to take screenshots, record the screen, record audio, or record video using external software.

Do not use recordings to blackmail, threaten, harass, exploit, or sexually extort another person. Where recording or sharing is illegal in your jurisdiction, you are responsible for complying with applicable laws.

A conversation should remain voluntary. If another user asks you to stop a particular topic, behavior, or interaction, respect that request. Do not pressure another participant into:

• Sharing personal information
• Showing their body
• Moving to another platform
• Continuing a conversation
• Sending images or giving money
• Revealing their identity

"No" means stop.

If you encounter behavior that violates these guidelines, use the reporting mechanism provided by Peerly, where available. When submitting a report, provide enough information for the moderation team to understand the issue. Reports may be reviewed to determine whether action is necessary.

Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, Peerly may:

• Warn the user
• Terminate the current session
• Temporarily restrict access
• Permanently restrict access
• Block technical identifiers where appropriate
• Preserve limited evidence for security or legal purposes
• Escalate serious matters to appropriate authorities when legally required

Not every report will result in the same action.

Certain behavior may result in immediate action without warning:

Do not use the reporting system to intentionally harass or falsely target another person. Repeatedly submitting knowingly false reports may result in restrictions on your own access to Peerly.

Peerly uses technical controls intended to improve reliability and safety, including rate limiting, abuse detection, connection monitoring, session controls, temporary identifiers, security logging, and automated protections.

No automated system can detect every violation. Human judgment may be required for certain reports and safety decisions.

Random video communication can be unpredictable. Use common sense:

• Do not assume someone is telling the truth
• Do not share your address
• Do not share passwords or financial information
• Do not send intimate material
• Do not agree to meet someone privately based solely on an online interaction
• Leave a conversation if you feel uncomfortable

Your safety comes first.

Peerly reserves the right to restrict or terminate access where there is reasonable evidence that a user has violated these Community Guidelines or has attempted to harm users, the platform, or its infrastructure. These guidelines are intended to protect the community and may evolve as Peerly grows.

We may update these Community Guidelines when new features are introduced, new forms of abuse emerge, or safety requirements change. The latest version will always be published on the Peerly website.
